Org Chart Type (parent)
How decisions are made and authority flows. The CDP's organizational impact depends heavily on this dimension — a hierarchical telco rolling out a CDP looks very different from a flat startup or a matrixed enterprise.
Options seeded inline rather than as separate child nodes (the parent suffices until specific recommendations vary by sub-type): Hierarchical, Matrix, Flat, Network, Divisional, Line Organization, Team-based.
Why this matters for the agent.
- Hierarchical organizations need executive-level alignment before purchase; the agent's recommendations must be packageable for an executive deck.
- Matrix organizations need cross-functional buy-in (marketing AND IT AND data); the agent must surface tradeoffs that each function will care about.
- Flat / network / team-based organizations may iterate faster but with less centralized governance — composable approaches often fit better here.
