Salesforce Marketing Cloud Next — Official Launch Announcement

Salesforce's official announcement for Marketing Cloud Next, unveiled at Salesforce Connections in June 2025.

Architectural shift. Marketing Cloud Next represents the most significant architectural change to Salesforce's marketing technology since the ExactTarget acquisition in 2013. It consolidates nine previous Salesforce marketing acquisitions (including ExactTarget, Pardot, Datorama, Krux, and others) into a single unified marketing application.

Foundation. Built natively on Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud/Salesforce CDP), enabling real-time access to unified customer profiles across the Salesforce platform — Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Commerce Cloud.

Agentic capabilities.

Channels. Email, SMS, web. Adaptive Journeys adjust based on engagement, intent, or inactivity. Two-way (conversational) email: GA February 2026.

B2B and B2C. Supports both B2B and B2C marketing from a single platform — a departure from Marketing Cloud's historical B2C focus and Pardot's B2B focus.

Relationship to vendor.salesforce-marketing-cloud. Marketing Cloud Next is the successor architecture to Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement. Existing SFMC customers migrate to (or run alongside) Marketing Cloud Next. The vendor node should reflect this transition.
