Dev Team — Backend Stream Processing

Owns streaming infrastructure: Kafka / Pulsar / Pub-Sub, stream processors (Flink, Beam, Materialize), real-time feature stores, decisioning services. Required for any activation at Intra-session latency or below in a composable architecture.

Capabilities the team enables. Real-time profile updates, sub-minute audience refresh, low-latency feature serving for ML inference, event-driven activation.

When this team is missing. Push real-time use cases into packaged-CDP territory (where the vendor provides this layer), or accept higher-latency tiers. Building stream processing without dedicated staff is the canonical project that gets cancelled in year two.
