Amperity
Amperity is a composable-adjacent CDP (branded "Customer Data Cloud") with a distinctive positioning around AI-powered identity resolution. Named a Niche Player in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for CDPs.
Identity resolution: the differentiator. Amperity's patented Stitch technology applies up to 45 ML models to resolve complex identity challenges without requiring rigid schemas or a predefined data model. Designed for enterprises with messy, heterogeneous, or unstructured data — large retailers with fragmented loyalty + ecommerce + POS records are the canonical use case. Match accuracy is independent of third-party data providers.
Lakehouse CDP architecture. Amperity's "bring your own architecture" model separates compute from storage: the Lakehouse CDP layer offers zero-copy data sharing with Snowflake and Databricks, and customers can execute predictions and actions using their own AI models and cloud compute. This architectural posture is composable-adjacent — Amperity manages the identity and audience layer; activation can flow to the customer's CDW ecosystem rather than a proprietary store.
AI and GenAI tooling. AmpAI integrates GenAI throughout the platform — agents for identity resolution and natural-language segment development. Chuck Data (released 2025) is an AI-native terminal assistant that enables data engineers to simplify customer data model management, reducing coding time.
Where it fits. Organizations with complex identity challenges (multiple fragmented source systems, no clean primary key) that are insufficient for deterministic-only matching. Strongest in retail, travel, and financial services in North America.
Where it is less suited. Organizations outside North America (limited geographic support). B2B use cases: Stitch technology is not applied to B2B account/buying-group identity; no native buying group scoring. Organizations with simple, clean first-party identity who don't need 45-model ML resolution — the complexity carries cost.
Cautions (Gartner). Net revenue retention lags peers; business faces uncertain impact of a strategic pivot to consumption-based pricing (credit unit: "Amps"). Billing volatility may exacerbate retention challenges if investment cases weaken during pricing transition. Limited out-of-the-box decisioning and orchestration — relies on custom implementations for attribution modeling.
