Adobe Experience Platform (AEP)
What it is. Adobe's packaged CDP. Bundles identity resolution, real-time profile storage, segmentation, audience activation, and a destinations ecosystem.
Strengths.
- Mature identity stitching across Adobe's broader marketing ecosystem (Analytics, Target, Campaign).
- Real-time profile updates and edge decisioning capabilities.
- Pre-built destination integrations to major activation channels.
Constraints worth surfacing to customers.
- constraint.aep-first-gen-export-500kb — caps raw data export at 500 KB/profile/year.
- constraint.aep-second-gen-export-1500kb — caps activation-style export at 1500 KB/profile/year and forces use of AEP's destination framework.
- constraint.aep-adhoc-query-timeout-10min — caps ad-hoc query execution at 10 minutes.
Where it fits. Organizations centralized around the Adobe marketing stack, with strong activation-side requirements and modest data-engineering capability. Does not fit organizations whose data strategy centers on a cloud data warehouse with frequent raw-data egress.
Alternative-to. vendor.snowflake, vendor.databricks, vendor.bigquery (as composable-stack centers); other packaged CDPs (not yet seeded in this KG).
Note on neutrality. Constraints listed above are factual and sourced. The agent should never recommend against AEP based on these alone — every architecture has tradeoffs, and AEP's are well-suited to certain organizational profiles. The job is to surface the constraints honestly so customers make an informed choice.
CX Enterprise Coworker and Adobe Engagement Intelligence (April 2026).
CX Enterprise Coworker. Agentic AI that monitors cross-channel signals, recommends next-best actions, and executes CX workflows in real time. Built on Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent2Agent (A2A) open standards — enabling interoperability with third-party AI platforms: AWS, Anthropic, Google Cloud, Microsoft, OpenAI, and NVIDIA. Human oversight required throughout; decision gates require human confirmation before deployment changes go live.
Adobe Engagement Intelligence. CLV-optimized decisioning engine serving as the intelligence layer for CX Enterprise Coworker — selecting personalization decisions and content variants at scale based on long-horizon customer lifetime value signals rather than in-session behavioral signals only.
Both integrate with Adobe Real-Time CDP to unify structured and unstructured customer data. Real-Time CDP positions as the foundational profile layer for agentic CX execution — AI agents consume unified profiles and write back decisioning outcomes.
Competitive context. Adobe's April 2026 announcement confirms the platform-bundled AI decisioning pattern described in concept.real-time-decisioning across three major platforms: Tealium (IYOM, May 2026), Braze (AI Decisioning Studio, December 2025), and Adobe (CX Enterprise Coworker + Engagement Intelligence, April 2026). Adobe's implementation is distinguished by open-standard interoperability (MCP + A2A) and multi-AI-platform support — architecturally more open than Tealium IYOM (CDW-model invocation) or BrazeAI Decisioning Studio (CEP-layer only).
